Meet Your Host
L. Marcus Williams studied cinema at Brooklyn College in New York, where he earned a dual degree in Film Production and Psychology. His thesis film, Lifeline, received multiple accolades, including a grant from the National Board of Review. (You can watch it here.)
The following five films helped shape him into the cinephile he is today:
• King Kong (Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack, 1933)
• A Clockwork Orange (Stanley Kubrick, 1971)
• La Dolce Vita (Federico Fellini, 1960)
• The Passion of Joan of Arc (Carl Theodor Dreyer, 1928)
• Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (Chantal Akerman, 1975)
Marcus lives in California with his wife, three children, and an ever-growing collection of physical media. When he is not watching or discussing films, he is almost certainly thinking about them.
